Elementary School
Elementary learning at St. Anthony of Padua happens in multi-age forms spanning 1st through 5th grade. Each form typically includes a spread of two to three grade levels and represents one or two years' worth of academic work aimed at mastery of the knowledge, skills, habits, and dispositions appropriate to that stage of formation.
Mixed-age forms allow us to set aside rigid assumptions about ages and grade levels and ensure every child stretches toward the highest expectations. Younger students build foundations and belonging; older students grow in leadership. All students deepen mastery, and there is no limit set in advance on what a child can encounter.
Inside the forms
Community
One learning community
Faculty and students in a form become a household of learners across all areas of study — praying, reading, and celebrating together.
Readiness
Progression without ceilings
Progression is based on readiness, not the calendar. A child ready for harder books gets harder books; a child needing more time for mastery gets it.
Habits
The trained powers
Close reading, memorization, narration, observation, and conversation — the classical habits that make every future subject learnable.
Continuity
Known across years
Teachers guide a child's formation across years, so no September is spent re-learning who your child is.

The best way to understand multi-age learning is to watch it happen.
